Getting Ready for Athena

Dale and I have wanted a carpet in the living room for a while but it's taken our adopting a dog, Athena,  to actually get one. Why? Because we want her to have someplace to lie down other than the hardwood floor.

Blue Moon - August 31, 2012

The full moon over our house. This is the second full moon of August making it a blue moon. You can see our lamp in the window and just to the right of that you can see the top of Dale's head while he reads.

Great Time Last Night

National Night Out 2012

National Night Out was in front of our house this year and we provided the grill. We had a great turnout once things got rolling!

New Washer and Dryer

The plumber just left. The gas line is all re-routed and we're washing a load as I write this!

Plumber's Visit

Our washer broke a few days ago. Our dryer is probably from the late 1970s so we decided to get a new set. The plumber came today to help get the gas line hooked up for the dryer.

Anne the Magnolia

Our neighbor Deb planted a new magnolia tree in her front yard. She decided to name the tree Anne.

It Looks Like a Cabin

My friend Mike recently dropped me off at home. His daughter said, "Is that your house? I like it. It looks like a cabin." I tend to think it looks more like a cottage but that's probably splitting hairs. I'll take the complement!

Cleaned Up Boulevard

The workers came back and cleaned up the boulevard around the new sidewalk panels. New grass seed was planted too.

It's hard to see, but notice the exposed tree root to the left.

Blue Marks with Blue Flag

Now a blue flag has appeared with the blue marks. Turns out this marks the where the water line is.

Blue Marks

These blue marks appeared the other day. I noticed them as I was mowing the lawn. Not sure what they mean.

Sidewalk

Pretty sure these markings mean that we're getting assessed and will have some work done on our sidewalks. Marks were made last summer but nothing ever became of them. What's with that?
