Sun!

The sun finally peeked out yesterday. It's been MIA for a week! Dale and I spent the evening eating blue corn chips and pizza and watching Grimm.

The Upstairs

Recently, I've devoted more time to organizing the upstairs than I have in a long, long time. It needs the attention. I've taught so many grade levels over the years and as a result accumulated a lot of materials. I never know when I might switch grades or schools so I've held on to things because I just never know when I might need something. It's hard to get rid of this stuff! With Dale being on the island for the past 12 years I just haven't been thinning things out like I used to due to being left with all the other house and yard work over the summer. I'm finding lots to get rid of and it feels good.

Heating Vent Grate

Our heating vent grate in the bathroom has been polished to a chrome finish. I think it looks great. That concludes our bathroom renovation.

Access to Plumbing

Dale's going to have the workers put in a small door behind where the plumbing for the shower and the bathtub faucet will be. This photo was taken from the bedroom that borders the bathroom plumbing.

March 5

This is what the bathroom looked like upon my return from work on March 5.

Toilet's been moved to the basement.

New Throne

The toilet has been installed in the basement and will remain there for most of the rest of the bathroom remodel.

10 Things Every Man Should Know About Interior Design - #8

According to GQ Magazine there are 10 Things Every Man Should Know About Interior Design

Number 8: Have a Bar Worth Bragging About

"You may want to hide the good stuff, but a solid bar display is an uncompromisable must-have. A bar cart or hutch is a stylish way to store your goods, but a simple serving tray on the countertop will perfectly suffice. Invest in a nice set of bar tools, at least one pair of nice wiskey glasses, and a few quality bottles of booze (at least for show)."

Shown above is the photograph that accompanied this suggestion online. Pictured below is a photograph of the bar serving tray in our kitchen. The contents reflect what I like to mix. The gin, olives, and vermouth is for martinis. The Cointreau and Patron Citronge is for sidecars. Maybe I'll get a decorative decantor for the brandy that those require since I don't really care for the (unpictured) Christian Brothers VS bottle.
